Quite a few people (mostly old people) had issues RSVPing, so I'd suggest that anyone using online RSVP also provide a phone number that the guest can call/text if the RSVP is giving them a hard time-then you can just RSVP for them manually. Could not find a way to delete it- it just showed up as a blank page.

I didn't want a "details" page with guest accommodations or any of that, because most people live in town and I wasn't doing a hotel block. I also had trouble deleting pages that I didn't care to have on my site.

I thought it was weird that anyone could comment on my site if they clicked the right link. I have no clue who they are, and it looked like it was maybe an old lady with the same anniversary. One of my guests put in their email (not knowing it wasn't required) and The Knot's system thought it was weird and wouldn't let them RSVP with the "invalid email"- even though the email isn't even necessary!Īdditionally, I had a random couple write in my online guestbook. I'm still glad we used online RSVPs instead of paper, because it saved us a lot of money, but I wish I had tested it more before deciding on a service. It's too late for me but hopefully this will help future brides. If my guest searches "Sam Smith" and I have them listed as "Samantha Smith", why wouldn't it give "Samantha Smith" as the result?

Either way you do it, you have to hope they think to add the plus one's name into the note section. I thought calling somebody "John Smith's +1" was a bit tacky, so we opted to add a guest called "Guest" separately. You can use their "allow guest to bring a plus one" and it automatically generates a guest called "John Smith's +1". There's no way to prompt your guest to give a name for their plus one. You can add a guest separately, and then go back into the editing tools to assign them to a different household. Once you create a household, there's no easy way to add someone to the household. It gives you the option to add an individual, a couple, or a household. I'm not sure if they use it for just reminders about our wedding-which it doesn't appear you can opt out of-or if they store it for future marketing.Īdding and editing the guests is very annoying. The Knot definitely stores the email addresses, because then they're visible on our dashboard. The Knot RSVP form has no privacy policy and no disclaimers about whether or not the email address may be used in the future. We opted not to upload our guests' email addresses, since we didn't want to give people's personal information to a third party website without asking them. The email field is not required, but there's no way to tell that from the form. When a guest goes on the website to RSVP, it prompts them to enter their name AND email. Here's a few issues to note for anybody looking at using The Knot for online RSVPs: The online RSVP function is one of the few things I didn't obsessively research before making a decision, and as our RSVP deadline approaches, I am regretting that.
